Pre-Filter Replacement

  1. Turn the unit off and unplug it. 
  2. Remove the used prefilter and carefully discard it in a plastic bag.
  3. Line up the seam in the prefilter with the receptacle at the back of the unit. Pull the new prefilter over the unit so it snugly covers the screen. 
  4. Plug the unit in and turn it on.

V.O.C. Filter Replacement

  1. Turn the unit off and unplug it.
  2. Turn the unit up-side down. With one hand holding the HEPA cartridge, pull the motor/fan housing off. 
  3. Remove the used V.O.C. filter and carefully discard it in a plastic bag.
  4. Roll the new V.O.C. filter into a cylinder smaller than the size of the opening in the HEPA cartridge. Insert the V.O.C. filter all the way into the well and spread it open against the HEPA filter.
  5. Sit the motor/fan housing right side up and seat the gasket in the groove.
  6. Place the HEPA cartridge on the motor/fan housing and align the plugs in the cartridge with the holes in the housing. Once the holes are aligned press firmly on the top of the cartridge to secure it to the housing.
  7. Plug the unit in and turn it on.
VOC filter replacement

HEPA Cartridge Replacement

  1. Turn the unit off and unplug it.
  2. Turn the unit upside down. With one hand holding the HEPA cartridge, pull the motor/fan housing away. Discard the cartridge in a plastic bag.
  3. Sit the motor/fan housing right side up and seat the gasket in the groove.
  4. Place the HEPA cartridge on the motor/fan housing and align the plugs in the cartridge with the holes in the housing. Once the holes are aligned press firmly on the top of the cartridge to secure it to the housing.
  5. Plug the unit in and turn it on.

Opening the cabinet

  1. Turn the unit off and unplug it.
  2. Unscrew the 5 lid screws. Once all five screws are out, remove the metal cover.

Pre-filter

  1. Lift the complete filter cartridge assembly from the unit. Remove and discard the carbon prefilter.
  2. Wrap the new prefilter around the HEPA cartridge completely enclosing it. Use the 3 butterfly clips provided to hold the filter tightly around the HEPA cartridge.
  3. Put the filter cartridge back in the unit.
Pre-Filter Change

HEPA filter

  1. Remove and carefully discard the old HEPA cartridge.
  2. Insert a new HEPA cartridge, complete with new Pre-filter and Inner Blanket.
  3. Place a new O-ring seal in the outer groove in the top of the HEPA cartridge. If the O-ring appears too big, pinch it in several places until it fits in the groove.

Inner Blanket

  1. Fold the ends of the old Inner Blanket in and remove it from the unit.
  2. Insert the new Inner Blanket inside the HEPA filter with the edges overlapped by at least one inch. Once it is in position press the Inner Blanket tightly against the inner screen until the ends butt together.

V.O.C. Cartridge (OPTIONAL)

The V.O.C. Cartridge is used in place of the Inner Blanket.
  1. Carefully slide the V.O.C. Cartridge into the HEPA filter. Do not drop it as it is heavy and may damage the unit.

Closing the cabinet

  1. Position the top cover on the unit with the centered screw hole at the rear of the unit.
  2. To replace the lid screws, apply firm pressure to the top cover to align the holes and then insert and fasten screws.
  3. Plug the unit in and turn it on.

  1. Unplug your unit from the power supply outlet.
  2. Remove the lid of the unit by releasing the two retaining clamps on the side of the unit. Then simply lift it off (you may need to remove a safety screw from the lid first).

Removing the HEPA Cartridge

  1. Turn HEPA filter counter-clockwise and lift out.
  2. Remove the HEPA cartridge from the unit. NOTE: The sponge (or carbon) pre-filter and the HEPA filter will contain contaminant’s. Remove them slowly from the unit in order to avoid dusting.

Replacing the Foam Pre-Filter

  1. Gently pull the foam pre-filter upwards to remove it from the assembly.
  2. To replace with a new or washed* pre-filter, carefully spread the foam filter around the outer edges of the filter assembly and gently pull it down to it’s original position (covering the exposed steel mesh)

* In order to increase filter life, foam pre-filters may be hand washed, allowed to dry, and re-used. Over time the filter will eventually need to be replaced.

HEPA Cartridge Replacement

  1. Remove and carefully discard the old HEPA Cartridge. (Filter Assembly)
  2. Install the new HEPA Cartridge. (Filter Assembly) see: ‘Re-Assembling the Unit’

Replacing the Inner Blanket

Caution: When completing the following steps, please use extreme care not to inflict pressure on the underlying HEPA filter when replacing the Inner Blanket
  1. Look inside the Filter Assembly to locate an end of the Inner Blanket.
  2. Without applying pressure directly on the HEPA filter located behind the Inner Blanket, fold the ends of the old Inner Blanket in and remove it from the unit. 
  3. Insert the new Inner Blanket inside the HEPA Cartridge with the edges overlapped by at least one inch. Once it is in position gently spread the Inner Blanket against the HEPA filter until the two ends of the blanket meet.

Re-Assembling the Unit

  1. Place the foam ‘O’-ring into the unit, and place it around the filter collar right in front of the Motor Assembly (if a new foam ‘O’-ring is available, use it in place of the old one)
  2. Place the Filter Assembly into the unit, onto the Motor Assembly and firmly twist the Filter Assembly clockwise until the filter is locked tight.
  3. Replace the lid by placing it back onto the unit and fasten it with the two retaining clips. 
  4. Replace safety screw if one was removed while opening the unit.
  5. Plug the unit back in, and turn it on.

Opening The Cabinet

  1. Unplug your unit from the power supply outlet.
  2. Open the front door of the unit by pushing up and lifting outwards, to gain access to the filter compartment (you may need to remove a safety screw from the top of the door first).

Removing the Filters

  1. Lift the rod that holds the filter in place and remove the metal plate covering the end of the filter.
  2. Remove the HEPA cartridges from the unit. NOTE: The carbon pre-filter and the HEPA filter will contain contaminants. Remove them slowly from the unit in order to avoid dusting.

V.O.C. Cartridge (OPTIONAL)

The V.O.C. Cartridge is used in place of the Inner Blanket when there is a need for extra chemical, gas, and odor control.
  1. Carefully slide the V.O.C. Cartridge into the HEPA filter. Do not drop it as it is heavy and may damage the filter. When replacing the HEPA cartridge into the unit, make sure the V.O.C. Cartridge does not slide out either end of the HEPA

HEPA filter

  1. Replace the HEPA cartridge complete with the new pre-filter and inner blanket (if changed) into the casing, making sure it is seated in the ring at the back of the unit. Install the cover plate and the filter retaining rods.

Closing the cabinet

  1. After all of the filters have been replaced, replace the front door.
  2. Plug in the unit and turn it on. For optimum performance set the unit to the highest speed setting.
